Old Town Coleman's "Ready to Ship"
Coleman Model 200A
Single Mantle Lantern
Born in October 1954
Condition: Fair
This lantern had 70 years of both hard and sticky black varnish coming from the valve assembly, so I used it as an example in a video. As you can see that varnish did a number to the decal. The "drip" from the valve stem also discolored the red paint above and below the decal slightly. There are a couple of rubs in the paint, and the bottom rim of the fount took a hit--it is out of round in one spot, but it is hard to see unless you're looking at the fount bottom. Ventilator has a 3/4" rash area on the lower rim.
Aside from that, it's beautiful! Lantern was rebuilt with a new valve stem packing and filler cap gasket. Generator was rebuilt; check valve was cleaned and reinstalled with gasket. Lantern didn't have a globe when I grabbed it so it now has a red label replacement.
Looks great, burns exactly as you'd expect.
