Coleman Model 220D

Double Mantle Lantern

Born Second Half 1950

Condition: VG+

I'd grade this one at "excellent" if it were not for the nickel and some rubs in the globe. The shine is still about 95% but it does have some fogging, spotting and scuffing. The globe has a pair of horizontal scuff marks in it, basically 90 degrees out from the Sunshine logo.

The frame and frame rest were soaked then machine buffed, and they came out well. The ventilator has a single chip on the lower rim. As usual, the lantern was disassembled and rebuilt with a new valve stem packing and filler cap gasket. The generator and check valve were cleaned and reused with a gasket being added to the check valve. She's a stunner and a runner--fires right up and burns bright. The rust on the bottom of the fount is just surface rust.

Comes in the original box in poor condition. It no longer has the top flaps and it pretty ragged. The lantern was originally sold by Western Auto in Cleveland, OH. Not shown in the photos but included is the packing cardboard and the original envelope marked "220D936 Single Parts" with the user manual and four informational notices. Very cool all by itself.

Asking price is $110.00 plus insured shipping.

This item is boxed and ready to ship. The box weighs 6.25lbs and measures 18"x11"x11". Use those measurements and a shipping zip code of 83858 at the USPS or UPS website for an estimate. We use Pirate Ship to save on shipping costs and have never charged a shipping or handling fee.
