Coleman Model 443

Aluminum Three Burner Stove

1961-1964

Condition: Good

Rode hard and put away wet. Sometimes I wish folks would take better care of their camp stoves. This one was well used, covered in sticky grease and stored for many years that way. The aluminum case did come quite clean but some of the staining and scuffing remains. But at least now your hand doesn't stick when you touch it... Well, let's just say that I got 99% of the grease off.

Stove was dismantled and rebuilt. The Bunsen, burner boxes and the manifold support were re-painted, the burner bowls and caps were blued. Tank received an Evapo-Rust treatment. As you can see, some water got to the backside seam and there is paint loss there. It also ate much of the plating on the case latches.

The case was also dinged up a bit when I got it, but most of them came out. I had to replace two of the grill clips and straighten out the case where they were mounted. It looked like someone had tried to rip the grates off rather than removing the screws...? The "decal" was that way when received and I cleaned around it rather than over it.

Fully rebuilt and burners great. Has a new valve stem packing and filler cap gasket. Generator and check valve cleaned and reinstalled with the check valve getting a gasket.

Not a mint 443, but it does look good and should get a lot of attention at the campground. This stove was used in the "Shutting Down Coleman Stoves" video that I recently released. I forgot to look for a tank flap date stamp...
